Camping hadn't been so bad. He had spent a few months in the Apocalypse World and a lot of that had been spent outside, so sleeping under the stars hadn't really been an issue for him. It had given him an opportunity to walk around and explore the grounds a little bit more and it also gave him the opportunity to finish a book that the hotel had been kind enough to send down with the other things. He hadn't been concerned, but he had wondered what surprises the hotel had in store for them while it had them locked outside, either out or indoors. The hotel was playing a lot of games with them, but it clearly didn't want them dead, which was a small comfort. It wanted something, and whether they were just a means of entertainment to some bored, ancient, cosmic entity or if there was another purpose for them, remained to be seen.
Like today. Now that the hotel doors were unlocked and they were allowed back in, Jack saw that he had a new room and a new roommate. What was the purpose of the change? Did they change rooms like this very often?
When Jack got to his new room, his new roommate was nowhere to be found, but the presence of another persons things there told him that there would eventually be someone. Just not right this second. After the night he spent outside on the ground, his bed looked really nice, and was pulling him towards it. Jack didn't want to be impolite and wallow in bed while he was meeting some new, so he pulled out a chair from the table and sat in it, surfing the network while he waited in case they came up or if they were out for the day.
