It had been a while since Lisa had pitched a tent. Ben and herself had done their share of camping when he was younger, but being seventeen, he'd lost interest in the outdoors a while ago in favor of video games. While Lisa was sad to see those time depart from their lives, she also understood children grew up and Ben was a teenager. He wasn't her little boy anymore and his interests and tastes changed. Unfortunately, that meant Lisa hadn't spent a night outdoors in a long time. For as good as her memory was, pitching a tent seemed to escape her at the moment. Dean offered and while Lisa was originally hesitant to accept the help based on the tone of the conversation eventually she relented. She'd already messed up once and didn't think the tent could take another round of her blind attempts. As much as Dean had rubbed her the wrong way for a good portion of that conversation, she was grateful for the help and figured maybe they could have better conversation while he set up the tent. Maybe. "Thanks for helping me," Lisa said when Dean arrived, giving him a small smile. "It's been a while since I did the whole camping thing with Ben." |
