Oh, so that's what this was about. Killian found himself smiling, amused for some reason - certainly, he gave off the impression that he was something of a casual sort, and perhaps once upon a time he had been. He knew full well that there was something charming about him, about the pirate's life. Though he wasn’t much of a heartbreaker, not anymore. Those were the days of sailing from port to port and bedding women (and men, he didn't discriminate), weaving tales and false promises, then leaving sheets cool in the morning.
These days, he wanted to not necessarily settle in one location (which was difficult being in the hotel), but to only be with one person - it was exhausting, all that bedhopping. And he sometimes wondered why anyone would want his damaged goods. Emma had, and yet that didn't end well. This was different, however. Being stuck on a past relationship had no place here.
"Who says it has to be casual?" he asked in a murmur.
