"Chocolate chip is always a good choice," she confirmed. While Daphne still felt like garbage, and would have actually preferred to crawl back into bed, she'd already started engaging. It was pulling her out of her slump and she wanted to wallow. She wanted to wallow and feel the pit in her chest sink into the Earth or something equally as dramatic, but Rose was making an effort and she didn't want to seem rude.
She'd probably feel better once she actually ate the cookies and had some of the tea. It was a mildly irritating thought that she tamped down. "I've never had English Breakfast," she confessed and reached for one of the cups. She didn't know how you were supposed to take it, but she brought it to her lips, blew gently and took a sip. It was bitter, but not nearly as biting as coffee. It also had a slight sweetness underneath it. She made a face before taking another sip.
It wasn't terrible and her body was practically sighing in relief at her actually ingesting something.
"I think I could get used to it," she said quietly. It'd definitely add variety. She didn't know why she was thinking about variety. Her life was currently supposed to be an empty void of meaninglessness, but it was hard to hold onto that feeling in the face of such kindness.
