"Good to know," Isobel said. "I'll be right back." She ducked inside and made her way quickly to the kitchen where she grabbed a mug and a package of shortbread cookies. While she did occasionally go for an overly sweet or complicated latte, she could appreciate good coffee black, so she didn't bother with any cream or sugar.
When she returned to the porch, she set down the cookies and said, "I grabbed these. If you change your mind and want a few, help yourself," as she held out her mug so he could fill it.
"It's nice to meet you in person. I'm not used to being able to connect with anyone but my brothers telepathically."
