How does this place even exist?

Vampires, Daywalkers, secret experiments on children I get. But a haunted hotel that appears to exist outside of time and space? No.

And why the fuck is Max here, but Scarlett isn't? How? The bastard should be dead. Is dead. I was there, there's no coming back from that. And yet. He's here.
