Though she had been alternating between staying in Clarke and Lexa's room and her own, Madi hadn't really spent any alone time with Clarke since their arrival at the hotel. After seeing that there was someone here that looked like Finn, Madi wanted to change that. The burden on Clarke's shoulders was heavy and Finn was part of that impossible load. Madi wanted to help Clarke in any way she could. She asked if Clarke if she wanted to try some of the new foods here and Clarke said they could and do it with a picnic. It immediately reminded Madi of the wonderful times they spent in Shadow Valley together. When it was just the two of them and Clarke would tell her stories about her friends and her, showing her the pictures she'd sketched in her book as she wove the tale for a star-struck Madi. Clarke braiding her hair, the two conversing in Grounder speak, as the day unfolded around them. It was so perfect, but like everything in their lives, it had to fail...and fall apart. Madi was trying not to think of that now. She'd made sure to gather up as much of the food as she could into whatever containers she could find. Unfortunately, the ice cream couldn't come with for the trip to the beach, but Madi made up for it with some of the other sweets she'd discovered during her time here. After handing her shift to another, Clarke joined her in the kitchen and the two put together a meal of the large selection of edibles before they headed down to the beach, blanket in hand. Despite being tweleve, Madi took up Clarke's hand as they made their way over the sand, finally settling on place decently close to the water, but far enough away that they would not end up soaked. Madi sorted out the blanket on the sand, flattening it out the best she could before moving to help Clarke unpack their meal. Madi couldn't help, but smile as she took out some of the bottled water and something called soda that she had never tried before, but wanted to see what it tasted like. "This is great, Clarke," Madi said, voice light with a rare show of happiness. "It's so peaceful out here." |
