It was nice to hear that Lucifer treated him well and there being no mention of things like soul collecting or deals being done. And she agreed that it would suck if he were mean. Gecko was a really nice. Awkward? Sure. Strange? Most definitely, but really sweet and she was always tempted to try to snuggle him, but didn't want to come off clingy or desperate or something like that.
"Well, I guess the upside is you get to look at him while you're both in here," she said jokingly.
She hadn't noticed the grin, still focused on her work when he started to compliment her. She had to pause a minute to process the flush of color that rushed her cheeks when he kept going. She was standing really close to his face already, which means he could see she was blushing. Maybe she should've kept the hat on, but it would've blocked the light she needed. "Probably," she said to answer his question, "but thank you."
Daphne could have just leaned in a little, tilted his chin up, just enough to kiss him. She really wanted to, but didn't want to give off the wrong impression. Instead, she continued to finish up the top line. "Almost done."
