Abby was still trying to figure this place out. But so far, it seemed like some kind of strange place that apparently changed whenever it felt like it. Like now, with the pirate shit. She was over it. But, at least there was no infected here. Not that she'd seen so far, anyway. This wasn't what was supposed to happen. She was supposed to be heading to Catalina Island, to regroup with the Fireflies. Owen had been right. They were regrouping. What that meant, she had no idea, but she was planning on finding out. She'd always been a Firefly at heart, but she'd lost her way with the WLF. Like Owen said, somewhere along the way, she'd stopped looking for the light. Her dad would be disappointed. It was his thing. He always told her when she was lost in the darkness to always look for the light. But that light had gone out when he'd died. When her life had turned into nothing but an obsession for finding and making Joel Miller pay for what he'd done. For taking her dad from her. But she'd killed Joel and it hadn't mattered. It hadn't brought her dad back and it sure as hell hadn't made her feel any better. The only thing that had made her feel better was finding and helping Yara and Lev. It was her chance to lighten the load. She needed to do it. She wanted to. She had fallen hard for the kids and had nearly lost her life helping them both. In the end, Yara had died saving her and Lev both. It had been hard to see, but Abby seriously would have died right then and there, at Isaac's hand before she would let him hurt Lev. Now, thankfully, Lev was here. She could stop stressing and worrying about him. When she'd seen him last, they'd been in Santa Barbara, laughing about how she always made him repeat it when she'd been right about something. Then, suddenly she'd been here, without him. But, in his world, they'd been taken by bandits. She needed to hear more about this. She'd heard that there were different things going on here, people from different times and stuff. As soon as she'd told Lev she'd be there, Abby threw on her clothes and boots and headed to the lobby as fast as she could. When she saw him, tears filled her eyes and a wide smile spread across her face and she rushed up, grabbing him in a big hug, completely forgetting the injuries he'd told her he had. |
