Ah. Then this Erik did have different memories than the man he knew. It wasn't surprising, really, and it would be interesting to see just how different. He knew that Erik's childhood was not so ideal as his own had been, however, and he didn't want to push in places where it might hurt. He would let Erik tell him his story in his own time.
"Nothing so public, I'm afraid," he said with a small smile. "I simply started to realize that I could hear people speaking things that they weren't actually saying out loud. It made for some awkward conversations."
