Upon her arrival, there wasn't much that Paige could have done except to expore the hotel where she'd ended up. She didn't know what this place was, nor did she know what she was doing here, but if there was one thing she'd learned in her time with the X-Men it was that the reason for things always made itself known in due time. One just had to be patient.
It still wasn't exactly her best virtue, but she was getting there.
Of course, being in a place like this, where ghosts seemed to thrive — not that she could see them all the time, usually infrequently — hadn't done wonders for her sleeping habits, though. This whole place set her nerves on fire, it seemed. And when Paige couldn't sleep, Paige did something else. Sometimes it was sketching — but she didn't have her sketchbook here. Sometimes it was training — she hadn't found a good spot to train in yet, however. Sometimes, like tonight, it was cooking.
Growing up with one older sibling and eight younger ones, Paige had to learn how to take care of them in an effort to help her mother. Her father passed years ago in a mining accident and her older brother had gone to work, first in the mines and then at Xavier's, to help put food on the table. Paige made that food.
And just like then, Paige was cooking for an army... even if she didn't know if anyone other than herself would eat it.
There was already two pies — cherry and lemon — and she'd started working on breakfast that she could keep warm in the ovens for anyone who wanted it in the morning.
For the most part, she'd started on some simple breakfast smoothies. Cinnamon Coffee smoothies were one of her favorites, so that had been the first thing she made. Better to have something she could drink while she worked, and what better thing to keep her going than coffee??
Strawberry Banana, Blueberry, and Vanilla Matcha had followed. Finding a kitchen this well stocked had come as a surprise. Not even Xavier's was as well stocked and that place fed a crap-ton of students and professors who could out-eat entire football teams.
Once she'd gotten pitchers made up of the smoothies, she'd started on food. Baked Oatmeal to start since it was quick and easy. Once that came out of the oven, she'd put in some Pumpkin Bread. Now that she was waiting for that to finish baking, she'd fixed herself up some breakfast Panzanella.
Cooking for an army became second nature, so it was no surprise that she'd utilized the kitchen as much as she possibly could.
Settling at a table, she started in on her own late dinner / breakfast, awaiting the tell-tale ding that would tell her that her pumpkin bread was done. Depending on if she was tired by the time it came out, it would either be her last piece for the night or if it would just be the next in line. She wasn't even completely sure what she would make after this... but this place seemed to have a never ending pantry, so the mutant knew she had a plethora of options.
