"Well...being dropped into a dimension full of ghosts and monsters is a pretty good reason, right?" Emma knew the joke fell flat because it was definitely true, even if it wasn't the main reason. "Honestly, when I showed up here...I thought I was going crazy for a while. But I think I'm still too able to function for that now, so I guess that's not the case."
Sighing, she lifted her hands to her temples and rubbed them, then tucked her light brown hair behind her ears as she looked around again, then finally back to him.
"Just before I came here, someone tried to kill my friends and I. He did it because I didn't want to be with him. He thought that our traumas matched up, or something, and he was just so...warped. And I had to kill him - so I think that's a pretty good reason for talking to you," she said softly, almost in a rush as she got it all out at once.
