WHO: Chloe Donaldson & James Randolph
WHAT: Celebrating at her Sweet 16.
WHERE: The party!
RATING: PG
Chloe loved parties so she made sure her Sweet 16 was one for the ages. Part of her felt guilty considering the money spent, but she donated funds to her favorite charities and spent extra time volunteering during July to make up for it. She just couldn't help going overboard for her sixteenth birthday! Her parents had no problem spoiling her for the big day, but she couldn't help thinking they thought the party was all she should really care about. Well, too bad, she was loving the summer class at the local community college. Some other rich girl on their side of town could stay in Clifton to raise babies and plan events. Chloe was getting out and making a difference.
Saving the world would wait for one night. She was having a blast dancing in the grand ballroom filled to the brim with people from all walks of life. Her family gave her some weird looks about the guest list, but the Donaldsons weren't as strict when it came to who their children spent time with. Sure, they wanted their girls to date the "right" type and behave a certain way, but they weren't cruel either. Chloe and Maddie could be friends with who they wanted which Chloe took full advantage of; she was so so happy to have all her school friends present. Still, when her eyes landed on James, her already huge smile widened. Learning Brady was gay had been difficult, but also good for her. She was finally able to let go of the dream of them as a couple. It also gave her some confidence. It wasn't her; he just wasn't into girls!
"James!" She called as she sauntered toward him in her aqua dress. "About time you got here!"

For Chloe's birthday, she receives
this necklace, a donation in her name to the soup kitchen, and a dozen pink roses sent to her house. (The charm would've been given to her on her birthday, obviously!)
The card is generic but, for once, heartfelt!
Chloe,
I don't know what I would do without you some days. You're my rock and my support and I love you more than you'll ever know. Now don't let it get to your head!
Happy Sweet Sixteen,
Brady
