Characters: Alice, Frank, & ickle Neville
Date: July 28th, 1981
Where: Their House
Summary: Alice takes her stress out on the oven
Completion: Closed
Alice had to admit, she'd gone a bit...overboard. Every surface of their average sized kitchen was covered in baked goods. From snickerdoodles to brownies to apple pies to muffins. Everything she could think of to bake was baked. And there were oatmeal raisin cookies still in the oven, with no place to put them to cool when they were done.
She did this, sometimes, when she was stressed out; take out her aggression with a whisk and a bowl.
"Hmmm...at least your birthday party will not be without food."
Neville looked up at Alice, cookie crumbs on his face, babbling to her.
Why was she so stressed? Aside from the war? No reason. The war seemed to be consuming their entire lives and instead of bottling it up to unleash on some poor, unsuspecting soul, she was just going to get her husband fat with too much desert.
She wished it could be as easy as 'kill Voldemort', because if it was, they'd have done it by now. But it was going to keep going on; people dying, getting tortured, disappearing, Neville in danger, until they could figure out how to stop him. Sure, at first, Dumbledore's Taboo had inspired more people to stand up to him, but not many, because the fact of the matter was, the people who were brave enough to stand up to him were already doing it. The rest of them...
Well, she have a few places they could shove those apple pies.
