Golden blonde curls were coiled around a slender pale hand tipped in blood red nails with a sharp jerk to bring the focus of the kneeling form’s attention to her captor. Swallowing hard, the blonde got a good look at the woman standing before her.
Electric blue silk shot through with silver thread molded to gentle curves from shoulders all the way to hip where it parted to display the pale length of a well-formed leg and a foot bound in a six-inch platform heel by a thin little strap. Eyes with three rings of color watched her from a face that could only be called achingly beautiful surrounded by riotous curls of copper. The looks of the figure before her said fragile beauty but the demeanor whispered deadly control.
“Vincent told me you were beautiful,” said a purring musical voice that rolled the kneeling girl’s mind and stroked something deep inside her. Lily closed her eyes and drew in a deep breath, trying hard to fight the sensation that raged through her only to be yanked right out of it by the woman’s next words.
“But I just do not see it. Perhaps that will change when your body is in the grips of reacting to pain, hm?”
Once brilliant blue eyes dulled by fatigue shot open to really look at the woman’s features and saw a form of curious amusement curving the redhead’s lips. It chilled Lily straight down to the marrow of her bones and it was the redhead’s eyes that did it. There was no real sign of emotion within the depths of the woman’s eyes just this cold calculating look that seemed to bare every one of Lily’s faults.
“There was something else he said you had that means far more than your beauty,” despite the fear that had come to life within her, Lily was holding her breath while waiting to find out just what it was the woman meant; only to mentally chastise herself for caring. Yes, Lily had sought out this meeting and went through a dozen plus interviews to get here but something about this woman just wasn’t right.
“Vincent was not the only one to notice it either, in fact all the reports I was given said the same thing. You have a burning desire to fight submission even while craving it.”
The woman’s purring voice seemed to caress Lily’s mind with those words, making the kneeling girl sway slightly in her position and her eyes to glaze over just a bit more. It was several seconds before the girl could fight through the fog in her mind, biting her bottom lip just so she could feel the pain. Shortly after Lily was trying to jerk her head away from the redhead’s grasp and spat at the floor between the woman’s shoes.
The blonde wasn’t even sure why she had done it but the moment she had, Lily felt something deep inside twist to leave her squirming. It only got worse when she heard a low musical laugh like silvery bells. When she could focus again, Lily saw the redhead watching her with faint amusement and still laughing while keeping a firm hold on a handful of golden curls.
“See what I mean, little toy? You just cannot help yourself.”
Shame and longing washed through the kneeling girl, her gaze moving to look at the floor between the redhead’s shoes. Several deep slow breaths were taken in order to try to help calm herself but nothing seemed to chase away the effects of the redhead’s purring musical voice.
“You want to beg me to put you under heel while self loathing keeps your tongue still. I wonder how long you can continue to fight between those two things while remaining sincere. Will it eventually just become a show you put on because you think that is what is expected? Or will you blossom?”
Lily whimpered and forced herself to look at the woman. Seconds dragged by and turned into moments before the silence was broken by the faint sound of a hoarse voice.
“You’re wrong.”
The redhead bit back a laugh, “Oh is that so, little toy?”
Slowly Lily nodded before forcing herself to turn her head enough to let her try and rub her cheek against the back of the hand that held her hair. Whether Lily wanted to admit it or not just that simple gesture cost her far more of her pride than she would have liked. It didn’t matter how much it cost, it also felt … right.
When she opened her eyes, Lily saw the thoughtful expression the redhead wore. Hope flared to life right along with a fresh wave of self-loathing. Hope for a chance to learn at the hands of someone like Celena Ducayne and self-loathing for the need to submit to anyone let alone another woman. There was something else there too, seasoning the rest of the emotions flitting through the kneeling girl; fear spawned from the rumors that circulated about the woman standing before her.
A finger tipped in a blood red nail moved to trace over Lily’s parted lips while a cool smile played upon the redhead’s own, “I can see why you made it this far.”
The hope soared higher and Lily found herself wanting to whisper grateful words for what she saw as acceptance.
“But the problem is that you need to stew a bit longer before you can be made into something appealing to my senses.”
The words were like a sharp stab to Lily’s heart. She had been so sure that this was going to turn out just how she had really thought it should. It took her a moment to realize that the redhead was still talking.
“Because of that I have decided that you may join the staff at Club Decay. If nothing else it will give you a chance to get a better handle upon exactly what you want.”
Before she even thought about it, Lily’s lips parted and she blurted out, “But..”
The redhead shook her head, pressed her finger to Lily’s lips to stop her and continued, “I would think about what this opportunity offers you before you ruin it for yourself.”
Lily fought back the tears as well as the wave of relief. It was strange to feel like she had failed completely and yet feel as if she had just escaped from something terrible. Maybe it was how she was supposed to feel when having something she wanted just within her reach only to have it snatched away by just a few words.
The redhead released her hair and turned to begin to make her way towards the door, leaving Lily to try and gather her wits. It was only once the woman reached the door that she turned and looked at Lily once more.
“Look at it this way, little toy. I could have just told you, hm what is that saying? You are close but no cigar. Something like that. Instead I am giving you a chance to change my mind. Use it well.”
With that the woman was gone leaving Lily alone asking herself if maybe she should’ve been wishing for exactly that.
