Who: Harry and Peter What: A conversation. When: Monday February 26 1981 Where: Peter's parents pub, The Weasel and Hare. Why: Harry wants to make sure there haven't been any changes that will mess with his plans.
Harry had been lulled into a false sense of security. He had been living in his parents time for five years now and had noticed little to no changes to his proper time. To be fair, he was rather trapped, but he saw people from the outside world, and from what he could see everything remained the same. Until recently. Suddenly there were noticeable changes, which just made him think there were probably very small changes happening this whole time that he wouldn't have been able to see even if he wasn't trapped in a mirror. Or maybe it has taken this long for the changes to catch up with the damage his presence has been doing the entire time.
Regardless, Andromeda Tonks' pregnancy announcement was causing Harry more than a little anxiety. Andromeda and Ted only had one child. Of course, it was possible that this baby -not to be indelicate- wouldn't make it, but Harry had a sinking feeling that wasn't the case. He tried to contact James, but he, apparently, wasn't at his journal. That left Harry to over-think the situation until he freaked himself out with the thought that everything was changing and they were going to have no idea when or where Voldemort was going to strike.
If he hadn't been afraid of seeing the baby, Harry would have just gone over to his parent's house, but instead he went to Peter Pettigrew's parent's pub. Thinking maybe if he could find out whether or not Peter was an official Voldemort follower, it might tell him how much things were changing. It was a weird thing, hoping someone was a DE.
It was a Monday evening, only the really desperate were going to be hanging out in a pub at six-thirty on a Monday, so Harry thought it a fairly good time to be able to catch Peter. And indeed, the only patrons when Harry arrived, were a man sitting by himself at the bar, and a quietly arguing couple in a booth near the door. He took a stool and within a few minutes Peter came from the back. Harry had been fine, determined even, until he saw Peter, then his heart started to pound.
"Peter," Harry greeted him, hoping he sounded normal.
