Who: Andromeda and Dora What: Getting ready to go to Hogwarts for her first year. When: Way the holy heck backdated to the last week in August. Where: Diagon Alley for first year supplies. Why: Because mum's love it when their little babies grow up and go off to school. And Dora needs a wand and robes and books and things.
Dora could sleep thought the night less and less the closer she got to leaving for Hogwarts. Her excitement grew every day, and none so much as the particular day set aside by her mother to travel together to Diagon Alley. There she would get books and things, all of the supplies on her list provided from Hogwarts, including the most important of all, her wand.
The wand, her wand, was a thing Dora coveted more than anything. She was obsessed. It felt overdue, in a way, because she had been changing the colour of her hair and small details of her person for as long as she could remember. But a wand made so much more possible. She wanted to go to Ollivander's first, right away. And she let her mother know as soon as they landed in Diagon Alley, as if Andromeda hadn't heard enough wand-related chatter leading up to their excursion.
"Do you think we should go to Ollivander's now, mum? I'm sure the line will only get worse." Dora tugged her mother's hand in the direction of the wand shop. Books and cauldrons could wait, and robes were a bore.
