Walden rolled when she did, and laid mostly on his back so he could hold her how she was comfortable. One arm wrapped securely around her, he took her hand resting on his chest, kissed the palm, and held it over his heart.
With as much as he had to drink over the course of the day, the party and shit that went down there, as exhausted as he was, Walden should have been able to easily sleep. But the emotional cataclysm he caused by losing control of himself physically was going to keep him him awake.
"I'm so sorry," he said again, after a long while, "I love you." He couldn't really tell if she was asleep or not, but he said it just the same. It needed to be said.
