[ Elizabeth was curled up on her chair by the window, her sewing in her hands occupying her. Slow, careful stitches, her head bent over it. Her humming was soft, just to herself, some old song about flowers in spring. Lifting the stitching up to the window, she took advantage of the light to see the colour of it better, running a thumb over her stitches. ] Better, much neater... [ She brought it back, pulling another thread from the rest and lining it up to the eye of the needle to begin again. The row of flowers she'd begun what seemed like years ago. Lilies and roses on an edge of sheets. ]

[Court, was by it's nature, a beautiful place. Deadly, yes. But made to be grander than the simple man could comprehend. It was a hard thing to rule, because she was supposed to be grander still... and yet she did. She found a way, even if it meant being colder than she'd like. Not that every day was so vicious. They would only write, after she was gone, of the days of strife, and very little of the warmer days in between where she was at her own leisure. Walked her corridors with her ladies and paid no mind to anyone that she did not want to. True selfishness, from time to time, was a marvellous thing.

Today was such a day. Cool, spring time, or at least near enough with the flowers blooming as they were. Oddly enough she could of sworn they weren't meant to for awhile yet.]
