It was finally starting and Kimb couldn't help but feel a serious bit of relief. Still, even with all the planning and everything falling into place, Kimb knew there were still a hundred things that could go wrong. There were heavy enchancements on the Ancient Egyptian wing, and the mummies had been rather helpful with the decorations. The wing was set up like a the court of Amun Ra (whose grand nephew they happened to have on exhibit) and all the mummies had made it their mission to recreate the high court and the New Year's festivals. There was, of course, a haunted tunnel leading down to the tomb, which were filled with the scarier thrills and frights for some of the adults. There were games and candies for the kids (and plenty of beverages and appetizers for the adults.)
The main atrium of the Museum was decorated in a rather festive manner, bats and owls floated about the ceiling, floating candles and jack o'lanterns. Kimb tapped her foot anxiously as the guest filtered in from the Lifetime Achievement presentations and into the main atrium for cocktail hour. She'd thought it was rather ludicrous that Professor Binns had gotten a lifetime achievement award, considering he'd been dead her whole life, and she thought that Perkins was a bit too bloody cocky to be receiving the award. He'd be smug for weeks.
She looked about for Romilda. She had gone trick or treating with Harry and had promised to be back in time for the cocktail hour. The more people that filtered into the main atrium, the more nervous Kimb became. Romilda had helped her so much with the planning and Kimb felt off without her here helping now. She touched the gauzy material of her costume and bit her lip, waving at one of her coworkers.
