Harry couldn't help but grin at the intimacy as Jack pulled his chair out for him and then moved his own setting closer. He nodded slightly as the other wizard offered to pour him wine, taking a small sip once he had.
"Teddy's the love of my life, I've been raising him along with his gran since he was a baby." He explained with a smile; although Harry would never want any of them to forget Teddy's parents, Harry considered Teddy just as good as his own son in many ways. He knew he'd do anything for that little boy. "And no, I like being close as well." He admitted, smiling brightly. Maybe this whole date thing would be easier than he'd thought!
"Sorry for rambling like that," He said, his smile turning a bit sheepish. "There's a lot about me that people don't know, or assume, and a lot of it isn't happy. But I don't want even a second of pity, so don't even think about it." He narrowed his eyes in a mock-glare before relaxing again. "I do feel like it matters. It's part of who I am, and I don't like having this sort of secret with my friends. I mean, we've been through a lot together, yeah? I shouldn't be nervous to tell them something like this. But how do I even breach the subject? I'm to a point where I want them to know, I sort of just...want it to be out in the open."
He frowned delicately as Jack explained how things were with his brothers and father, pursing his lips a bit in disapproval.
"That's rotten, about your father and brothers," He said with a little shake of his head. "I could have been, I dunno, Jesus Christ himself, and my uncle still would've hated me. But every father should accept his kids for who they are, y'know? He helped create them, whether he likes it or not! As for brothers, well...human pretzels or no, it's their job to protect the younger ones. Not bully them." At least, that's how Harry saw things in his little world.
