"Teddy's great. I think I wanted to steal him away, earlier and I'm not really a baby stealer." Jack followed Harry down, absently touching the walls and some of the fixtures, just because he could and Harry didn't say not to, but his attention was definitely on the other wizard. He pulled out the chair for Harry and then moved his place to the corner closer to Harry's plate, rather than straight across with a sheepish grin. "Don't mind me, I like being close to people. Eating across the table is kind of...sterile and cold? Unless you want me to eat over there then I can."
He poured himself a glass of wine and offered to pour one for Harry, "You are special, don't tell yourself that you're not. And yeah, I'm getting that you don't see yourself as a celebrity, but mate, no one writes about me and my girlfriends who take their clothes off - not that I have any girlfriends or that your friend was taking her clothes off - but no one writes about me period. That's the bit I was talking about, that's all."
Jack didn't like the mentions of the sad things Harry was talking about, but he kept his face impassive, because he wasn't here to pity Harry, he was here to listen to him, to get to know him and that was part of it. He nodded in agreement with Harry, knowing exactly how he felt. "You feel like it's wrong not to tell, even though there's nothing that says being gay makes you a hundred percent of who you are, and really it shouldn't matter, but it does matter. My mum and dad know, but my brothers don't. My mum actually caught me with one of the neighbor boys, we thought they'd gone out all day but no, she had forgotten to tell me to start dinner and came back and caught me snogging a boy on my bed. Mortifying, but she was good. My dad wasn't so happy, but he wasn't very happy about a lot of things about me. It was their idea not to tell my brothers. I love them, but they're big bullies. Manly men you know? So they try and set me up with girls all the time."
