"Its okay, it's just me not reading, I think. If I go back and read it now, I'm pretty sure it would say something to that effect. Don't want everyone to go around thinking I'm the nutjob who wears a skunk hat to house parties," Jack grinned, trying not to react to Harry standing closer and putting the hat back on. He used one hand to help the hat stay on and bit his lip some more to keep himself from leaning in and just snogging the sense out of Harry. Because although all the signals were there, there was just too much not there that Jack needed to know. And he didn't know quite how to bring it up, because if he was wrong, then he was wrong and have messed up this new friendship. But if he was right, then well... Jack didn't know what would happen if he was right, but it didn't sit right with him not knowing.
The cuddling on the couch earlier was nice, wonderful even, but what did it mean? "I'm up for anything. Though, we should ah. Well, I'm a little confused. I'm just," Jack shrugged and put his hand on Harry's shoulder, light enough that it could be shrugged off. "I'm very open minded, but I'm not... I don't get involved in things like this when there's um, someone else. I don't know what you want and you can tell me to go shove off if I've got my signals wrong here too, but if your girlfriend is upstairs, then maybe you should deal with that before ah, jumping into anything more." Jack cringed at his inelegance, but he was really trying to be the nice guy here, and give Harry an out if he wanted to.
