Jack blushed and ducked his head, "Uh, year before that. My friend Andrew and I replaced Fred and George Weasley as beaters. I wasn't very good. I was just trying to impress my brothers. I ended up not playing the next year. Can't blame you though, no one wants a beater that knocks himself out with his on bat, yeah?" Jack shrugged, trying to make light of the situation. He'd actually been glad to have been passed over for the position again, even though his brother had sent a not-so-nice letter about it. It was years ago though, Jack didn't really care so much anymore.
"I'm sure you could find a personal assistant. Lots of busy people have them. Maybe once you make your big break as starting seeker you'll be able to get one. Someone to sort through your post and all that, pull out all the love letters and rank them for you yeah? But then you've got someone who is bossing you around all day, telling you what appointments you have and such, I'm not to keen on that. I don't like bosses. The guy that owns this cart thing, I just bring him a total cash deposit and he gives me a paycheck and more art supplies - minimal, but we worked it out so he pays me a little more now because I buy my own stuff. But then I've got another job," Jack grinned, "Basically a secretary, though I think it's more of a scribe. At the ministry, it helps with the whole steady income thing, when it's too cold out here to be doing this. I take notes at committee meetings and sort through post and all that. Quite boring but its steady. Sometimes. They love me for my handwriting, really."
Jack waved off the offer for the coffee, "If I drink coffee or espresso, I'll be bouncing around and unable to finish this. Coffee is like my weakness, but thanks for offering. And I used to be pretty crap, but if you just draw all the time, and keep doing it, things turn out looking sort of normal. I've never been to an art class or anything, its just drawing though. Not real art or anything, I'm not the greatest with painting yet. Mostly it just gets everywhere."
