Teddy's comm dinged methodically just as the door to the apartment shut, and he waved the group up the stairs and further out of harm's way as he pulled the device from his pocket. He was relieved that Natasha had gotten through, but the situation was proving to get more complicated by the second as more of the creatures seemingly began dropping from the sky. Through the glass, he could see the group trapped in the doorway begin to panic. From the safety of the foyer he could see more now, people ducking behind snow piles and one attempting in vain to uncover the door on a vehicle still trapped in white.
"Shit," the word came out as a hiss, and his fingers swiped across the smooth surface of the comm to dial Alex, speaking almost immediately when she answered. "Alright so, situation run down. I've got civilians in the open, six hostiles grounded, a fuckton more in the air. I'm bringing out the big guy. Figure I'll have him hold the fort until you get here."
"I'm on my way," came the reply. "Lotta civilians need rescue, been stopping a lot. I tried to link up with one it's...it's not good. They're not receptive. I hitched a ride with another unit I'll be there soon."
Teddy was making his way back up the stairs, carefully past the group who had just come in from outside. Neighbors were poking their heads out of their doors, and one already seemed to be on a mission to find their first aid kit. "Copy that. I'm gonna hand the comm off to Natasha. Big guy's gonna need orders, and I think she'll appreciate the help." Understatement, he was sure. Even as he opened the door to her apartment again he felt a heavy weight in his gut. This was the very last way he wanted her to meet Drake.
"Gotcha, put her on. See you soon. And him sooner." Alex's reply should have been more comforting than it was, but he could only smile apologetically at Natasha as he held the comm out to her.
"I need to send Drake out," he tried to sound confident, but the concern was most definitely there. "We have people trapped outside and they need help now. Alex is on her way, but I need your help until then. Do you think you can?"
