School has gotten extremely busy for me, as I'm trying to finish up my Master's thesis in time to graduate in May and I am really behind. However, I am going to be making more of an effort to be around, since it's not fair to you all. If you could just check in here and let me know that you're around and still interested in playing, that would be fantastic. We'll do that now in lieu of an activity check since everyone's been sparse. Also, if anyone has heard from Beth lately, could you please comment here? [20 Mar 2010|11:41pm] vivalavi Hi everyone! Leah here again with my second character. I'd like to introduce you all to the ever wonderful Violet Finnigan. She's a Hufflepuff seventh year and is just a girl who wants to have fun. She's extremely nice to almost anybody and it takes quite a lot to get into her bad books. Due to the influence of her best mate, Natasha Entwhistle, Violet is less of a wallflower nowadays and is prone to cutting loose every once in a while. She works hard and plays hard (in a metaphorical sense). She's also developed a fast fancy to Auror Rochester and is likely to be found hanging around wherever he's patrolling during her free time (she insists that it isn't stalking!). Whilst she puts on a happy front most of the time, Vi has a few issues with trust because of her unlikely ex-boyfriend, Justin Pritchard. Also, don't catch her in a bad mood. You'll feel as though you've just poked a sleeping dragon in the eye. More info on Violet can be found in her CS, which is up at her journal! Violet needs friends, enemies (if you're really that awful to her), and all manner of things between. I eat plot for breakfast, so long as it's yummy! So please, have at it! [16 Mar 2010|11:23pm] lmsmith Okay guys, because I am UBER LAZY and have missed SO MANY INTRO POSTS, I'm copying and pasting what I have here for anyone who's post I missed. Name's Jon, I'm one of the modly ones, and I currently have three characters in this game: Evan Nott: Slytherin, 6th year. Evan is an extremely open-minded person. In fact, he doesn't care about anything, except for homosexuals. He hates them, thinks they're dirt, etc etc. Stereotypical homophobe. however, unlike most homophobes, Evan is very very straight. He's currently crushing on/dating Zoe Cadwallader....i think that's the last name...anyways! The only other things you should know about him are that he loves woodwork and has a very dark side to his being. He plans on being a wandmaker when he graduates Hogwarts, and will do anything to accomplish that dream. As for his dark side, it tends to come out at random times. He is constantly fighting against it so that he doesn't lose anymore friends (he's already lost two of them). Occasionally he can be seen clenching his head as if in pain. Be wary if you see him then, because it's likely that he'll say something that he doesn't mean! check him out at nott_evan Lucas is my 7th year Hufflepuff Quidditch Captain. He's an open book when it comes to emotions, choosing to always wear them on his sleeve. People always know what he's feeling and what he's thinking because he doesn't hide those emotions. Lucas is also very gay. He's not a flambouyant gay, but he doesn't hide that either. At the moment, I can't think of anything else about him, but we'll see later on! xD Check him out at lmsmith oh! He likes to cook, too! Last, but not least, is Cameron Kastor, my muggleborn 6th year Gryffindor. Unlike EVERYONE at Hogwarts, he DESPISES it here. He cannot stand magic due to his upbringing, and was actually disowned when his parents found out he had magic. They eventually accepted him back in his 5th year, I believe. He currently acts as a liason for his father, telling him everything he finds out about Hogwarts. Dunno what I'm going to do with that, if anything, though. Cameron's specialty is martial arts. He's well-versed in all kinds of it, but is most versed in Jiujutsu, Tae Kwon Do, and Tai Chi, I believe (I've kinda forgotten...xD). Because of his hatred for magic, he doesn't do well in classes that are heavily spell-based, and tends to stay away from them. Also, when he graduates, he's GOING to find a way to get into a Muggle university and leave magic behind and never look back, or so he's decided. He's also asexual because he has no sex drive whatsoever. He's uninterested in men AND women because he spent his developmental stages in Hogwarts, hating nearly everyone around him. [15 Mar 2010|03:36pm] cromble Hello. Annie here with my third character Harold Abercrombie! The Hogwarts jerk. Alright - first thing is that he prefers to go by Noah, his middle name. So call him Harold and you'll most likely get hexed. So. Noah Abercrombie is quite the snob, he's a 6th year Slytherin and is a typical Slytherin. Completely. He's very fond of the ladies, he really doesn't have any close friends, just a few here and there. He's a great student and is a cocky bastard, although, he does put on the shy act to reel in ladies. Noah looks cocky and when he talks he talks in a 'confident' tone, as he puts it, and he honestly thinks that he's a lot smarter than most kids at Hogwarts. Um. Just let me know what you guys think of him, so enemies, snog pal? hah!, crush, friends, acquaintances and maybe even a girl in the future who may snag this kid and reel him in. [14 Mar 2010|05:20pm] roxnrolls Hello everyone, I'm back, unfortunately I couldn't pick up my girl but I'm happy to be bringing in Roxanne Weasley instead! She goes by Roxi or Rox, she has a bit of OCD that she's currently wondering if she should be worried about, it doesn't matter what is going on or where she is, if there is a mirror she does multiple "double" checks of herself. It's not really vanity, she's not primping, she's legitimately making sure everything is perfect, like to make sure wrinkles and smudges aren't there, or that the blob she sees is not really on her face but on the mirror, or that she has no fly-aways. She also smiles, each, and, every, time she looks into a mirror. She practices smiling. She's an odd cookie and you should love her, because I do. You can find more about her: here! [Activity Checks] [13 Mar 2010|04:33pm] sonofapritch I know it's not really my place, but Beth has been crazy busy with Finals Week... so I decided to help the mods out from a distance! I've compiled a list of all the threads and owls for the sake of activity checks. I know there are quite a few names under fire this Monday, and I figured it was fair game to let everyone know where their characters stand in relation to activity. The mods have been super lenient thus far, and I just hope this will inspire everyone to get-a-move-on! ^_~ I know I have to save Justin Pritchard & Natasha Entwhistle from this check too, so I mean... yeah! I'm glad I did it. Lol. Mods, I'll send you this html via e-mail so you guys can feel free to tweak it or add to. [Introducing Natasha Entwhistle] [10 Mar 2010|04:52pm] theadvocate Howdy, Hooligans! It's Marie here one final time with Natasha Entwhistle. Tash is a 7th year Hufflepuff and Seeker for the Badgers. WOOT. Her little brother Marcus Entwhistle (entwhstl) is already in game. The two of them are rarely civil to one another, but on the rare occasion they see eye-to-eye, one had better hope it's in his/her best interests. They can be quite a deadly duo if ever in agreement on anything. She has loads of goodies to look over in her journal, but the BIG things that your characters may have heard of I'll mention here. Natasha started out rather agreeable, but she's one of those Hufflepuffs that is a terrible judge of character. She's always been drawn to the flashy/showy types or simply those who seem to ooze with self-confidence & power, and let's just face it... those aren't always the most honorable sort. Considering she's so energetic and outgoing, Natasha made friends rather easily early on. Her social life took a turn for the better when she made the Quidditch team her third year (having tried for a position since her first year). Long story short, she wound up dating fellow teammate Jacob Corner. The two became somewhat of a power couple, but the poor bloke wasn't able to keep this flighty Puff's attentions too long. Natasha began dating a bloke (Matthew Bletchley) behind the scenes and eventually decided to call it quits with Jacob. Though it is pretty commonly known she messed around behind Jacob's back, no one knows with whom. Not too long after Jacob & Natasha split, she wound up making her true sentiments known regarding Matthew. The main details are found on her history, but I'm sure you'll be hearing more of Matthew in the near future. ^_~ So yeah, that's where I leave you! Nowadays Natasha is a bit selfish, and she may still have some friends lingering here and there. However most of her former mates (particularly those loyal to Jacob) have trickled away because they deem her as 'bad news.' She herself is not entirely certain whether or not she truly is. Mates? I completely forgot about my midterms this week and I have a Japanese test, oral, and midterm, plus a law exam and two 4 page film papers all for this week. So basically, I may not be super around for the remainder of this week. I fail at complete hiatuses so I'll probably be around still, but I can't promise speedy responses to anything. And modly units, is it possible to get an extension on my lottery scenes? Because I will barely have time to respond to journals, and it is extremely unlikely that I'll be able to thread post comment
