Is anyone running classes? Or willing to run classes? I need to stop thinking would like to learn something new, please.

The U.S. Marine Corps usually celebrates its birthday by having balls/parties as close to 10 November as possible. Since as far as I know the only members of the Corps on the Island are my uncle Jake and myself I thought we could hold a 'joint' celebration of everyone's respective service. There'd be food, cake, dancing, all the normal stuff. I was thinking we'd have it on November 7th.

What do you say?

Okay, so I know I've been a little MIA lately. I've been elbows deep in alien robot parts. I think I finally got most of the things sorted. At least with the smaller ones.

There's still the legs of the bigger ones.

Um, anyway, in the time I wasn't sorting out useful bits and parts, I actually made a few metal sculptures, out of the bits that weren't useful for anything else...

So I will be holding auditions for Phantom of the Opera in two weeks. I thought because it's going to take quote awhile to rehearse and build sets that we should get things started. I hope nobody finds it selfish of me, but I'd like to put myself as Christine Daae. Since I was behind the scenes for Sound of Music, I want to be up there for this one.

Anyone. Please let me know if you would like to audition and who you are auditioning for.

Some days I stare at a blank canvas, and feel like I just want to google "how to paint".

Since Eames is gone, and he had done some excellent work getting the art store/gallery up to standard, and I should really try having a studio that is not just my apartment, I have taken over, and I'm excited to reveal something of a timetable of events. If we're stuck here, we might as well settle

The back of the store is going to be used as a gallery, where other islanders may come and see what work the students are creating (you can currently view Eames' work and my own here). We can work towards exhibitions and such, and if anyone wanted to "hire" the space for their own events, you would be most welcome.

I will be there regardless of whether one person turns up, or ten, or none- so just pop in. Materials supplied. Tea also supplied.

If anyone else would like to hold a class (of any art at all), please get in touch and I will add you to the timetable, which will also be displayed in the shop window if you're passing and want a reminder. If you just want to come in and use the materials/studio space without taking a class, you are welcome at all of the "free" times to do so.

Printmaking coming soon... once I have the equipment. Also looking for volunteer life drawing models.
