Posted this morning

I have a feeling that I'm in the wrong time again. So that's fantastic. 2019, is it?

It took me near a month, but I reckon I've figured this thing out.

I'm Tacitus Kilgore Arthur Morgan. When I left it was 1899. I'm not sure what else I should say.

Look at this place! It's brilliant! I took these pictures yesterday.

[Fake cut goes here, so Bill's photos don't take over the network]

[Photo of a fruit stall that's like nothing he's ever seen before, full of all kinds of weird-looking, weirdly-colored fruit]

[Photo of Zu haggling with the stall owner, both of them clearly enjoying it despite the stall owner not being human in the slightest. They're tall, with purple skin and a mass of tentacles instead of hair. Some of the tentacles have tattoos down the length of them.]

[Photo of a group of alien kids playing some sort of game with at least three different balls, all of the kids are different]

[Photo of the market, showing a number of different stalls and all the different beings shopping in it.]

The noise is bad. I'm going on a spacewalk.

Can anyone else near [location] smell burning? Maybe I'm just paranoid

I cannot locate the source. Be vigilant.

I know many of you have lost loved ones. Be it recently, or over the years of being here, or on the island. Or even in your life away from this place. And my first thought is, we should have a group. To support one another. But some people who need it might not find comfort in meeting in person, that some of you might find it easier to 'talk' across the network.

And so I ask you, those that can and will, share your story here. So that others may find comfort in your story, or you may find comfort in telling it. You can tell as little, or as much as you want. You can even fabricate a story if you like. Or treat your own as if it were someone else. Whatever is easiest for you.

I will share mine, in hopes that others will follow. You can respond to mine, or to others, but try to keep it encouraging words. There's no need to jeer at someone else's pain.

I'm starting up a new round of classes, so that I have something to do while my machines are running samples. I found a classroom near Tommy's lecture theater. It's not as big, but it's got enough desks for 15 people to show up and have seats, and a decent projector, and it's now compatible with Lyla. And since I'm going to be doing the teaching, it will have coffee.

I can teach basic and advanced science classes (biology, chemistry and physics), and genetics right up to doctorate level. Probably some engineering, basic robotics, coding and math as well, although that'll be more free-form than the stuff I've actually previously taught (the science bits) and therefore have lessons planned for, and I get the feeling I'd be stepping on people's toes if I did that.

[Location of new classroom]

I'll be there for at least two hours every day starting tomorrow, from 1400hrs on. If nobody shows up, I'll read and drink coffee with my feet up on the desk. If people do show up, I'll teach you something.

Sign up below if you're interested, with what you're interested in.

Look what we built!

With the help of Mr Hemingway the younger, I was able to catch enough sand bass and crappie (pronounced cropy) to have a good old fashioned Southern fish fry. There will be home fries and collard greens and biscuits and sweet tea and lemonade to go along with it.

Starting Friday around noon.
