Rachel didn’t need to have the story explained to her to get the gist. While the stories wouldn’t be a one-to-one comparison, she, too, had boxed up the belongings of an ex and packed them into a corner to be removed from her sight, from her life, at the earliest possible convenience. And with all the emotions and feelings attached to those things – things – throwing them out on her own had been nearly impossible.
“Do you want me to remove them?” Rachel offered, leaning back in her seat to get a little more comfortable. “Maybe not get rid of them, but at least remove them from your room? If you don’t want them around, that is.”
