With everyone gathered in one place, the bodies being removed and the agent involved escorted to the medical area for now, it was time for the remainder of the base to be informed of what had gone on that day. With everyone waiting, Handler Gupta already taking agent Maddox aside once the identities of the bodies was confirmed, it was time to let them know.
Director Vance stood by the doors to the cafeteria, waiting for quite to fall so that he could address everyone. "Agents, thank you for your patience, I understand this has been a very disruptive day. Unfortunately an agent had a malfunction with their powers earlier today, it resulted in the untimely death of two agents. At this time we are not at liberty to disclose more than that." Power malfunctions were becoming exceptionally common, something that would be addressed, be it with times that agents were limited in general or through some additional training, that was yet to be seen.
"We all understand that this is a difficult time, and that many of you will be upset at the events that have unfolded today. As ever, Dr Romero and her team are available for those of you who need to speak to them, simply bring it up with your handler and we'll see to it that all agents receive the appropriate attention and support. As of right now, we simply as that you all take some time, reach out if you need to." It all sounded a little rehearsed, and Vance was aware that it might come across like that, mostly because it was a little rehearsed.
Giving a nod, the director excused himself from the cafeteria, leaving the group to discuss among themselves or disperse as they wished.
