Curiosity killed the cat. The saying was extremely well known, but the second part of it? Not so much. The whole saying was Curiosity killed the cat, but satisfaction brought him back. It was a saying that JP tried to live by, for the most part. It never hurt to dig into something, and what was uncovered was usually worth the trouble. Except when it wasn't, but for the purposes of being psychologically accurate, he discounted the times when it wasn't.
So the team switch was new and a lot of people were disgruntled about it, and maybe understandably so, but JP wasn't that bothered if he was being completely honest. He understood that shifts needed to happen and balancing out teams, spreading the load or whatever was a key part of making sure that this government-run facility full of civilian soldiers ran smoothly. That they got the best for their well-invested money and all that shit.
Besides, ever since Alejandro had arrived at the base he'd wanted an excuse to talk to the man with the giant (angel) wings. Now they were on the same team it was the perfect excuse. True, it would have been nice to be on the same team as Julian: they'd shared stories over a spliff the other night, but the people that he was with now? They were cool enough. Even if one of them was leaving feathers everywhere.
He pushed his hair back and lifted a hand at Alejandro as he came over. "Five minutes on the dot," he praised with a grin. "As you can see the evidence is clear."
On the ground there were both downy and larger feathers that had clearly fallen from a bird of some kind on the floor, leading to and from the door that JP was standing in front of.
"As they're definitely not yours- unless you're not a natural white?" his smile turned a little cheeky, "They belong to the person behind this door. Would you like the honours?" He stepped back a little, making a sweeping 'go ahead' gesture with his hand to indicate that the older man could knock on the door.
