If karma's good works had never come to fruition, she'd made some arrangements of her own. It was a small revenge, as revenges were when delivered with great difficulty and from a distance, but designed to cut deep.
Her smile became a sympathetic one. It wasn't pity, but friendly, projected sorrow for what was to come. "Limbo's probably the best base to start out in."
