"But the fiber, Jamie! Think of the fiber!" He made sure there was no way they'd accidentally touch, and then picked up the bowl with both wet and dry ingredients in it, mixing it thoroughly until it became smooth and light. He was careful to beat air into it, moving slow enough that he didn't burst any forming air pockets.
"I wouldn't have, but turns out when you're on the run, kitchens pay pretty good money under the table."
He'd found the most adorable set of pink cupcake cases, and he set these up on a baking tray in groups of three until there were twelve, and began to pour the mixture into them.
"You come in, do a few hours prep, do a bit of baking, and they'll pay you good because you're reliable and you cost less than someone paid on the books. It's pretty awesome."
