Who: Theo Lupei [Narrative]
What: Decompressing
When: Sometime after his latest mission
Where: Limbo grounds
Rating: Low
Ever since the mission Theo had gone out of his way to avoid Avery and had very much been keeping to himself. Mostly because he kept replaying the events of the mission over in his head, picking apart what happened and what could have been done differently to avoid what happened. He was a mix of conflicting emotions, ranging from anger to concern and worry then right back to anger. Avery had been a complete loose cannon, hadn't listened to anyone and had put herself right in the line of fire. It was stupid, reckless, and it should not have happened. Like at all. She should have actually listened, kept her earpiece in, but more importantly she should have thought before she acted. But honestly he was also mad at himself, for not checking the room more thoroughly because if he had he might have clocked the super and maybe just maybe Avery wouldn't have been hurt and what happened wouldn't have happened. There were a lot of 'what ifs' and Theo hated that and the more he thought about it the more restless he became and the stronger his impulse to just beat the living crap out of something became. And so rather than let that particular emotion get the better of him Theo decided to push himself to the brink of his physical capability and then some, so much so that by the time he'd finished his run he was not only sweating but also close to losing what little stomach contents he actually had. Feeling very much as if his body was going to internally combust Theo stripped off his t-shirt and sagged back against the nearby wall, chest lifting and rising in short succession as he dragged air back into his abused lungs before simply tipping his head back to close his eyes and swallow back a lump now lodged in the back of his throat. Of course that didn't help keep the sight of the man on the ground or the fact that Avery had distinct marks around her neck from where she'd been strangled from replaying over in his mind's eye and eventually Theo sunk into a crouch and pushed his hands into his hair as he just worked through that particular mission and the subsequent fallout. It had definitely not been ideal. |
