"I don't see why people should be weirded out by it," Mason responded with a shrug of his shoulders. "It's evolution or something, innit? Just the next step or whatever. Some people are different, I don't see why anyone should be treated like a criminal just for being born." He tilted his head, "That's why you're here, right? Might not know you, mate, but I can't imagine you breaking the law."
He was curious about Tony's powers, but figured that was a conversation that could be had at another time. It wasn't like they were getting out of here any time soon, after all. His eyes cut from where he was fiddling to the bracelet to Tony at the snickered comment and just shrugged his shoulders.
So they had the same birthday. Doesn't mean anything? "Bullshit does it mean nothing. You're not stupid." They looked almost identical and had the same birthday, even the Parent Trap idiot kids worked out that they were twins from that. Though he didn't have any pictures of his birth parents to swap and have a dramatic reveal with because he was adopted.
He felt a twist in his stomach, an old wound reminding him that his birth parents had given him away and there was a chance that they'd kept Tony. That- that hurt more than he wanted to admit to himself.
He pressed his teeth together and shrugged again. "Well, it's the surprise you got," he retorted. "Like it or leave it."
