Gabi turned her head when she heard the sound of footsteps behind her over the sound of sizzling food. Seeing Evan freshly showered with the lengths of his hair loose - a sight she didn't often see - caused her lips to curl up in a small smile.
"Thanks," she said, tipping her head to indicate he could come over if he wanted. "Luckily for you, I'm no good at judging portion sizes." Honestly, she'd made more in the hopes that someone would join her. She didn't like eating alone, and eating in the canteen felt so impersonal to her.
She shifted how she was sitting, stirred the contents of the pan and then carefully levered herself to her feet to finish off the other bits of preparation, wobbling a little as she righted herself.
