Kat took a deep breath and nodded at Tyler's response. "No regrets," she truly echoed again. It was easier said than done but Kat was trying to stop her mind from thinking on it any more than she had already done tonight. "Yeah.. I'll have to poke around tomorrow," she tried to sound encouraging. As much as it'd be a good idea to have her get her mind off of not having her own kids, she wasn't sure that was the best way to do it. Someone else's kid being dumped in the Regiment would never be a supplement for what could have been her own, especially with them being a pseudo-soldier now.
Even with Tyler rubbing her back, Kat was tense. She tried to push her thoughts out of her mind, not dwelling on babies or what-ifs. They lived in a harsh world with absolutes and she had to try to convince herself that a baby had no place here, especially with two parents who had abilities. She'd barely give birth and they'd probably whisk the baby off to a different facility, or at least that's how she always pictured it happening in her mind. "Find the runt of the litter later this week," she suggested. "We'll toughen them up and teach them."
