Kat laughed at his suggestion of a tattoo but tried to be shocked that he’d suggest something like that. “You know, that might just be a good idea after all.” There were enough other tattoos that would cover it up that Kat didn’t really care.
She pulled back from the kiss and looked thoughtfully at Tyler. “I don’t know, sometimes I wonder if we would have been stuck there if we didn’t have these abilities.” They were valid thoughts. None of Kat’s siblings had abilities that she knew of and they were all stuck in drug rings with more kids than they could count. “Sometimes I wonder if the stench from that trash follows us, or me, around.” Kat knew it was mostly in her head and no one could tell her upbringing just by looking at her but the thought still passed through her mind periodically.
“Only if you could imagine me as Susie Homemaker.” A simple life where they weren’t criminals or superpowered sometimes didn’t sound half bad to Kat.
