Cerise chuckled. "It's not that bad," she offered, "considering the alternative is a detention centre or one of the fabled underground facilities." Still, it seemed that there were too many of them, and her chances of getting moved between enough of them to see if she could find Zeke seemed slim. It had been six months and she was still unsure as to if he was even in the system. Her handler in South Dakota had been singularly... unhelpful. Protocol, apparently, stopped him searching for others.
"But this place seems... more modern." Which Ruby could take however she wanted. She sipped her coffee again and then looked at it, pulling the lid off and using a wooden stirrer to swirl the contents a little. The coffee from this coffee shop was better than in a run-down diner but it still had a way to go to be anywhere near equal to the outside.
She placed her cup down and looked at Ruby. That piece of information was interesting; they placed sibling groups together? Her mind briefly flashed to that grainy image she had seen a few years ago, an image of a face that looked as though it could have been related to her, a high percentage familial match coming back from March's calibrations.
"Is that so wise?" she asked, hearing that her handler was 'pretty cool, chill and shit' answering her question enough for now. "Putting siblings in the same facility, let alone on the same team?"
