“But it might send you back to commenting on the network,” Raven pointed out. “And that would bring me an unbelievable amount of joy. The flattery might be somewhat self-motivated in that regard.”
She took a sip of his coffee – a little bitterer than she normally made her own – and smiled as she slid it back across the table to him.
Raven sat up a little straighter when he commented on how she was nearly glowing. Tossing her dark hair slightly over her shoulder, she couldn’t quite fight the slightly smug expression that crossed her features. “It’s not quite real freedom, but it’s closer to it than I’ve felt in a long, long time.”
Glancing around the café, Raven turned up her nose. “Hmm. It’s a little quiet in here, huh?” She extended her hand towards him. “Want to go for a walk?”
