“I doubt that,” she countered. “Have you seen you?” Raven grinned, but after a beat, she added, “And your conversational skills… they’re not so bad either. You’ve certainly brightened many of my days around here, Aidan.”
It wasn’t just flirting (though it was that, too); Aidan had been a very good friend to her, kind and caring, even after she’d nearly split his (and others’) heads with her powers.
“I know it may seem strange,” she considered, aloud, “That I want them turned off. But it makes things easier. And I know—I know I won’t hurt anyone.”
Chuckling, Raven reached across table to snag Aidan’s coffee cup from him, though she made sure that her fingers brushed his in the process. “I hope you don’t mind sharing,” she remarked before continuing, “And I’m not quite sure yet! So far I’m just basking in the enjoyment of being able to hug Dove without accidentally swapping bodies. Or melting someone’s brain because I got excited.”
