Raven laughed warmly. “Maybe you need to avoid the network for a while. Not that there’s a whole lot else to do, but it might be good for your sanity.” Limbo seemed to have lots of little (and big) ways to chip away at that, regardless of what their peers were saying online in moments of confusion, boredom, or just plain idiocy in some cases.
She could tell by his gaze that he was noticing the change; that she sat a little taller, was smiling a little more freely, and most importantly, that she had gladly ditched the gloves and long-sleeves. And, naturally, she was glad he seemed to notice.
“Aren’t you sweet to me,” she inclined her head. “Maybe I’m just repaying the favour after so many times you’ve made my day a little bit better,” she shrugged, leaning closer to the table. “But thank you for noticing! I’m in a very good mood. My handler and shrink have finally decided to turn off my powers for a few hours every evening. To be re-assessed, of course, but for now, I intend to enjoy it.”
