There was a defined difference in how the Outsiders operated within these walls and on the streets of New York. Alejandro would be the first and last to say that. Bickering and fighting amongst themselves as though this was the first time they had been together. Forgetting that they had told each other they were family if not but a couple months ago. Alejandro was to blame for some of it. This place was to blame for some of it. And some of it, laid with the others who were not meant to be letting emotions rule their decision-making but yet still were.
Cal was right, in any case. Alejandro was good with throwing out orders but there was no action coming from him. No give and take to what he had asked him to do when it came to the cafeteria while he was kissing ass with Marshall. Betraying everything he stood for when it came to bringing Frankie into the Regiment and justifying it to himself that 'it was good that he did what he was ordered to do'. For blaming Scotty. For letting the others blame Scotty for them being caught when it was a feather that led the Regiment to their door. What betrayal would that carry now? What weight did that have that it didn't have before?
He shut his eyes as he stood at the door and listened to Cassidy play before opening the door, the hologram of the 'concert hall' dissolving at the slightest change in integrity of the hologym and leaving them in the truth of the matter. The concert hall was the imagination of a young man who needed his voice to be heard. Alejandro tucked his hands in pockets as he padded closer to Cass. Alejandro recognized the emotions, felt them -- he was sure he'd felt them before personally a long time ago when he would look outside of his window when he was younger. Stuck in the glided cage of his grandma's apartment because he was too much of a freak to be let out.
Now he was here at least. Moved past those emotions to use them as his strength. "Feeling better now that you got that all out? Is there anyone particular the song is pointed at or am I going to have to guess?" His answer, honestly -- would be Tammy. She was the closest to him than the others and tracked behind Cass the most usually. "How're you doing, Cass?"
