His fist balled up slightly as he internally fought the pain and anger he felt, trying to calm his voice again. A few tears slipped down his cheek.

She was the one who found him on the street, welcomed him into the group. He'd always felt closer to her than anyone else. Bones was independent, she really didn't need them.
