"Thanks for your help, Gideon," Ariel said, taking the chips following the completed handshake and holding it loosely in the hand that wasn't holding Dusty's leash. "Nice to meet you. This is Dusty. Dusty, say hello," she stepped to the side slightly and Dusty moved to obediently sit beside her again, huffing out a breath and bowing her head in a clearly practised move towards Gideon.
She smiled a little when Dusty nudged her hand again. "Good girl," she praised, rubbing behind the dog's ears. "Um, no, thanks. I'm good. Just need to pay for these and I'll be on my way."
