"Mm, regular Doritos, please," Ariel said. She was pleasantly surprised that someone she didn't know wasn't being a total dick to her. She'd experienced that a fair bit at the beginning in the other facility she'd been stuck in for a couple of years; people at first making bullshit assumptions and being assholes to her, thinking she got 'preferential treatment' and all that. Which she didn't want; she wanted to learn to defend herself but everyone insisted on treating her like she was made of glass.
Deacon seemed better in that regard, at least. They hadn't started her lessons but he seemed intent on giving them to her.
"Thanks." She paused, "You'll have to forgive me if we've already met, not so good at learning voices straight away. I'm Ariel." She hesitated in sticking her hand out because it would end up going in the wrong direction but she did anyway, her powers kicking in at the time so she actually stretched her hand out for a shake right towards Gideon, as if she were sighted.
