Carly frowned, the expression just as exaggerated as ever. Even with her voice back, it was difficult for Carly not to be exceptionally animated. “You like it. That’s it?” She swatted his shoulder. “I was hoping for something a little more like wow, Carly, you sound like an angel or I never imagined your voice could be this beautiful. You need to step up your complimentary game, Bishop.”
She tossed her head back against the sofa and groaned loudly. “I know, right? It’s about time. I’ve had so many assholes in charge of my life around here, it’s nice to finally have someone with some sense. But she hasn’t been here long, so maybe we shouldn’t give her too much credit yet.”
One of her brows rose high into her forehead when he mentioned that he’d set up The Greatest Showman for them to watch. Carly grinned. “Heard the soundtrack, but haven’t seen the film. I am ready for some Wolverine song-and-dance.” She pinched his chin and laughed again. “You done good, Ethan. You really do know your audience.”
