Ali snorted, curling her arms around his shoulders as he hugged her, arms tight around her waist. She leaned into him and rested her chin on his shoulder, having to stand up onto the very tips of her toes in order to actually reach, relying on him for more than a little but of stability. If he'd let her go without warning she would have fallen. Then she'd have kicked him for letting it happen.
Leaning back, she kissed his nose and let go, dropping her arms and standing back down on her heels. "Yet here you are, not locked up or in solitary, not covered in bruises, so you're adjusting well."
She lightly punched him on the arm as she extracted herself from his touch, broad smile on her face. "Boy, I've been worried sick about you."
