"Well we don't exactly make a secret of it," Evan pointed out. "You should have been told when you first joined that we can and will monitor the network as we need to make sure we catch any potential problems before they become something much bigger than they need to be." Like recent events and Evan was still not happy with the fact he hadn't caught it sooner and put an end to it before what happened had happened.
He tapped his thumbs together as Syreni continued, frown marring his features as she admitted to be 'weird' and how she was struggling to make friends. "Well first of all referring to yourself as weird is not healthy and it definitely isn't going to help with making friends. People tend to see what you put out there and if you have it in your head that you're weird it's going to come across whether you mean for it to or not. I can guarantee you, Syreni, there is no such thing as normal and everybody has their own weirdness and oddities."
Also? Evan wasn't happy with the fact Syreni seemed to have latched onto this Scotty kid. The same one who had basically turned that entire situation on its head and made it seem like it was Syreni's fault for what had happened. Partly she was to blame, for not identifying what was clearly a confrontational situation, but more so Sandy was at fault. She had issues of her own he was sure but those issues shouldn't explode in such a dramatic fashion.
"You might like him a lot," Evan began. "But I don't think he's the healthiest choice. Especially as he basically told you to lie and tell myself and Handler Cohen that you were lying about what happened. I'm pretty sure somebody who cared about you wouldn't ask you to do that and would instead be concerned about and for you. I know it's difficult, making friends, but you shouldn't just accept any sort of treatment just because you're afraid of losing somebody. It isn't healthy and it isn't okay. That's one of the many reasons I've referred you to therapy as I think you'll benefit from speaking to someone."
