Chloe blinked a couple of times, her cheeks flushing as she was called out for lying. It hadn't been a complete lie, but apparently, it had been enough that he could sense it. She tucked her hair behind her ear and slipped down through the bench.
A gust of air later and she reappeared, frown on her face as she focused her attention to re-solidify. She didn't speak for a moment before she lifted a shoulder, clearly very embarrassed.
"It's only a white lie, no one really wants to know the answer to that question." She swallowed, "My momma always said it's not nice to talk to strangers 'bout your problems when they ain't ever all that interested and are just bein' polite."
